On March 3, 2011, Dana Leong, a former student and alumnus of Carlmont High School (Class of 1998), gave the Carlmont Instrumental students a master class.  The students were amazed at what Dana could do with a computer, an electric cello and a trombone. He is such a gifted musician. The next evening Dana and his genre-bending quartet, Milk & Jade, returned to the Carlmont Performing Arts Center to give a benefit concert to a sold-out crowd. It was a very special evening as I not only had one former student performing in the concert, but had another, Patrick Korte, Carlmont HS alumnus (Class of 1996).  Both Dana and Patrick are also alumni of Nesbit Elementary School and Ralston Intermediate School.  A third member of the quartet, Lukas Vesely, is an alumnus of Menlo-Atherton High School (Class of 1995).  This evening will be long remembered not only by me, but by all of Dana’s and Patrick’s former teachers who attended – a truly special evening.

Media Gallery Video streaming available
October 10th, 2009

Until now video files were fully downloaded into browser caches before starting to play which caused long waiting times for certain files. Now videos are streamed and start playing after about 10 seconds or when enough data is downloaded into a buffer. This has been successfully tested with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. Low bandwidth users may have to pause playback to reach a large enough buffer level for a smooth playback experience.
